I was sitting at a stoplight yesterday, staring at the car in front of me and I realized that we must have the most boring license plates in the history of the world!
I mean, look at it! No color to speak of and that minuscule bird at the bottom! My license plate holder covers the bird’s body, so I’m doomed to drive around with this bland piece of tin with a bird’s head polluting my pretty little car. And, since we just got these new plates, heaven knows how long it will be before they change. Well! I can’t have that! So I guess I’ll just have to move, and what better way to choose a new state than to pick one with pretty plates? So, after shopping around, I found some interesting ones.
Now I think Maine has an attractive plate. Sure, it’s another bird, but this one is bigger and is perched on that pretty pine branch and the whole thing has a little more color. But it gets so cold in Maine …
Arizona is more like it! You’ve got your cacti and the sun setting behind the mountains. The only problem is that I don’t really like the yellow stuck in there between the purple and blue, so I’m afraid I’m going to have to pass. Can’t be driving around with clashing colors!
Wyoming is very tempting. Now there’s a license plate! The background looks like a photograph. The sky is beautiful. There are mountains and forests. And I love the way the little cowboy guy is separating the numbers! There’s no way you’d get bored sitting behind a car with this license plate!
But, one of my two favorites is South Carolina…the tree, the moon, what can I say? It’s got this moody thing going on. I like it!
And finally, there’s my favorite (and this won’t be a surprise to my friends) – New Mexico! I know, I know, it’s not as picturesque as some of the others, but it is brighter and does have those interesting Indian elements.
And, if I had to move, this is where I’d go. After all, who wouldn’t want to live in the “Land of Enchantment?”
